What happens when you give yourself four days with nowhere to rush to? From 22–25 August 2026, Micro Mindfulness along with a small group of guests experienced Ranu Retreat: Stillness at the Sea, a 4D3N wellness journey across the waters of Labuan Bajo and the Komodo Islands. Set aboard the Augustine Phinisi, Ranu Retreat brought together mindful movement, science-based nutrition workshop, and nature experiences, creating a space where guests could slow down and reconnect with themselves. The days unfolded through sunrise meditation and yoga, pilates, breathwork, nutrition workshops, island exploration, snorkeling, sunset hikes, beachside Yin Yoga, nourishing meals, and quiet moments at sea. Rather than creating another schedule to keep up with, Ranu was intentionally designed to feel guided yet spacious, allowing guests to move at a different rhythm.
At the heart of the retreat was a simple philosophy from Micro Mindfulness Co-Founders Alyssa Chairiena and Ishabella K: “A lake doesn't try to be clear. It becomes clear when the movement stops.” In a world shaped by constant stimulation, responsibilities, and the pressure to keep moving, Ranu offered a place for the nervous system to settle. Guests were invited to come as they were, without needing previous wellness experience or preparation.
From movement practices led by Michelle King, a Jakarta-based barre, yoga, and Pilates teacher, to nutrition and mindfulness experiences guided by Ishabella K, Registered Nutritionist and Co-Founder of Micro Mindfulness, the retreat approached wellbeing through the interconnectedness of body, mind, nourishment, and rest. As the founders described it, Ranu was never intended to be an escape, but rather four days still enough for clarity to appear, with the hope that some of that clarity could come home with each guest.
Nature was not simply the backdrop to Ranu; it became part of the practice. Guests sailed between the islands of the Komodo archipelago, explored Pulau Rinca, watched the sunset from Pulau Padar, snorkeled in the waters around Pink Beach and Manta Point, and spent time swimming and moving through the open sea. These experiences were balanced with moments of restoration, from rooftop yoga and breathwork to Yin Yoga on the beach, nourishing meals, and an evening beach dinner and bonfire. The result was a retreat that allowed adventure and stillness to exist side by side, reflecting Micro Mindfulness' belief that wellbeing does not always have to look like doing less, but can also mean becoming more present in whatever we are doing.
Building on the first Ranu experience, Micro Mindfulness is now opening the next chapter: Ranu Retreat: Her Rhythm, taking place 25–28 April 2027 in Labuan Bajo, Komodo Islands. Created exclusively for women, Her Rhythm explores a different dimension of stillness: learning to listen to the body's own patterns rather than constantly working against them. Energy, appetite, sleep, focus, and physical strength can shift throughout a woman's cycle and different stages of life, and these changes can offer information rather than simply being treated as inconsistency. Whether her cycle is regular, she uses hormonal contraception, is postpartum, or is moving through perimenopause, every woman has a rhythm. Through mindful movement, nutrition, restorative practices, nature, and expert-led experiences, Her Rhythm will invite women to notice, understand, and work with their bodies with greater curiosity and awareness. Not a new routine. Your own.
Registration for Ranu Retreat: Her Rhythm is now open. Taking place from 25–28 April 2027 in Labuan Bajo, Komodo Islands, the retreat is an invitation for women to slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and experience the luxury of stillness in one of Indonesia's most remarkable natural settings. Prospective participants can learn more and register through contact the Micro Mindfulness team directly for further information and availability. As Ranu moves from Stillness at the Sea into Her Rhythm, the invitation remains simple: come as you are, make space to listen, and discover what your body has been trying to tell you.
